HSE University opens online-registration to the HSE Global Scholarship Competition-2020

National Research University is to hold its regular, seventh Competition for the 2019/2020 academic year from October 24 to October 31, 2019.

Participation in the HSE Global Scholarship Competition-2020 (GSC-2020) is free of charge. 

Participants of the GSC-2020 may choose between an on-campus (off-line) mode and an off-campus (on-line) mode of participation. 

Foreign (non-Russian) citizens, stateless persons or Russian nationals living abroad are invited to take part in the Competition, namely:

- high-school learners studying in the 10th or in 11th grade (or in the 11th or the 12th grade for those pursuing a 12-year school programme, respectively);

- or, those who have graduated from international comprehensive schools or currently study in international colleges and are under 30 years of age.

Foreign citizens residing in Russia and who are under 30 years of age are also invited to take part in the Competition.

The Competition will cover the following fields of study: English, Asian Studies, Design, Journalism, History (World History), Cultural Studies, Mathematics, Media Communications, International Relations, Law, Psychology, Advertising and Public Relations, Social Sciences (Person. Society. State), Modern Politics, Physics, Philology, and Philosophy. (Please note that the competitions in the following subjects will be held in Russian only: Advertising and Public Relations, Design and Philology).

All prospective participants of the HSE Global Scholarship Competition-2020 must register online in the period from May 20 to October 14, 2019. Registration Rules A motivation letter in Russian and English should also be attached to the registration form (up to 1 page in Word format, Times New Roman font 12, with a 1.5 interline spacing). A motivation letter should be written by a participant personally in a free format and include such details as their personal information and academic achievements, as well as their motivation to take part in the Competition and plans for the future studies, possibly at HSE University. Please specify the programme you are interested in (see the list of the programmes here). Motivation letters will not be assessed and should be provided only to demonstrate the applicant’s interests and willingness to take part in the HSE Global Scholarship Competition-2020.

The Competition winners and laureates who apply for admission to study at HSE University in 2020 will be entitled to a full scholarship (within a quota) of the Russian Government to study on degree programmes of the Bachelor’s / Specialist level at HSE University, provided that they comply with application requirements which will be published on the HSE Global Scholarship Competition’s website in November-December of 2019. 

Participants of the Competition will be given an opportunity to apply for scholarships and grants allowing them to get a tuition fee discount.

The GSC-2020 outcomes shall be valid for admission at HSE University in the 2020/2021 and 2021/2022 academic years.

The Competition provides you with an opportunity to not only acquire new knowledge and skills in related study subjects and get methodological recommendations in the course of the GSC webinars to self-study for the competitions in different fields of study but also familiarize yourselves with HSE University’s undergraduate programmes
